Painting - Impressionist Oil Painting On Cradled Birch
Description
How often have we felt a stranger in the flock? I chanced by this quiet scene in early spring as I was enjoying the warming weather of my Alaskan home. The mama, and grandma, sheep were all grazing happily watching over the new little lambs. I seemed they were all gossiping and chatting at the woman's "well". A bossy little hen wandered in and everyone was happily minding their own business. Until the stranger came, and they looked at her expectantly, trying to ascertain, whether I was friend or foe. I was touched by this pastoral scene and reminded of the many strangers among the "flock," of the need for both caution and an open mind, and of the Good Shepherd who would eventually come and gather us all into the the fold.

I have a chicken like this: she goes where she wants and is often hanging out with our 2 little dogs. Great painting Tayla, and congrats on first place! L

Thank you Bonnie! I love painting "white" specifically because of all the light reflections. :)
