Title
Unexpected Path - through the woods
Artist
Talya Johnson
Medium
Painting - Soft Pastel On Velour Board
Description
This painting came to me in a whirlwind of joyful expression. The woods in my Alaskan back yard have always provided me with endless inspiration. While I painted with the soft, silky pastels, a path emerged among the trees that was not there in my reference. I went with it. A meadow in the back appeared where a gravel pit was before. It was an enchanting experience.
I was reminded of how often we can reach a point in our journey where the growth and obstacles are impenetrable. Suddenly, at the point of giving up, a shift in the wind or light opens our eyes and we find a path, where there was none before.
Hang this painting wherever you might need a reminder of the enchanted path waiting for you. ~Tali
